Yeah but I'll have to acquire some connection mechanism first.

Well I can tell you one company you deal with now can use that quite nicely...

What do you use network connections for?

Every client I have ever dealt with uses some 3rd party VPN mechanism, and wireless shows up in my tray, so I'd only go in there if I needed to switch from DHCP to a static IP or vice versa...

Create a folder within your start menu (or wherever you’d prefer) named –

Network Connections.{7007ACC7-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}

… the ‘Network Connections’ piece is of no relevance to this ‘Explorer’ trickery, it merely represents the name that you’ll see in the menu or on the folder
(depending on your view). The trailing class ID is the key element.

Hope it’s useful.

I want to know: How did Dean sort of fix it? It’s one of my pet peeves with Vista too!

On May 2, joe wrote:
As we speak I am spending considerable amount of time trying to put the shortcuts that used to be in XP into Vista because someone decided to spread things across

Dean and I were bitching about Connect To for instance in Vista until all of a sudden Dean figured out how to sort of fix it. How many people are pissed that you cannot just click start | connect to | connection anymore? Instead you have to dive through
multiple menus, that is part of the whole dumbing down. If we have to dumb down and protect the servers, the wrong people are running servers. Someone needs to go on the radio and tell people listening to the ads that "you to can become a network admin in
3 simple weeks" that it isn't true.
