| Corrupt Default Domain Policy
Yesterday we encountered an issue with our 2003 Default Domain Policy. We believe it had become corrupt. We used the dcgpofix tool to restore it back. I'm not 100% confident that we are out of the woods because when I run a gpresult it's states that my domain type is a 2000 domain when it's 2003. I don't remember if that's is correct or if we have other problems.
My question is has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you resolve it? Thanks.

Just and FYI. You did not bring this up, but we have seen people try
anduse the Longhorn tools on Windows 2003 GPO and they have corrupted the
policy. Not sure you have any Longhorn tools in house, but thought I would point
that out.Hugh

Christine,
Are you sure you aren't looking at the forest level instead
of the domain level? I've done the same thing before.

| Just be aware that the tool does not restore the settings of the default domain controllers policy completely. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833783 has details. Assuming you only restored the default domain policy you should be OK. Else check for discrepancies.
