| Colleagues,
We're thinking of building some servers with Windows 2003 R2, mostly to take advantage of the disk quota options to control some of our more prolific users, and I've not even scratched the surface of R2 since we haven't needed it until now.
Is this something that's basically a no brainer, and won't really impact our AD environment significantly, and can therefore just be introduced with little or no consequences? Or, are there lists of caveats and gotchas out there I should know about and/or be looking for? Where do I start?
Many thanks, folks.

| I vote a no brainer that installs with no issues and is no big deal. It is more of a feature pack than anything else, imho. Ours went in with zero issues.

| Thanks, Brian,
So, I can't just load R2 onto a single server in my AD forest so I can get the disk quota options? Reason I ask is, that's the only benefit my managers want - the ability to control disk quotas on this one server.

If you want to load R2 domain controllers you'll need to update the schema. Otherwise a no brainer. Many of my customers have some mix of 2003/2003 R2 DCs based on when they were built.
