Except the servers literally burning down were NOT isolated instances and
were directly related to the cheapness of the parts Dell uses. I know
every manufacturer has occasional problems but I personally haven't ever
experienced anything of that magnitude from HP or Compaq before them but
it's not an isolated experience for me with Dell. Anecdotes and all that,
but I've always believed you get what you pay for.

Thanks,
Andrew

Let?s all be honest here and admit that basing an opinion on anything
technology related, on years old information is completely worthless. If
you have current information good or bad about HP or Dell by all means
share it, but these ? I got a bad DRAC card in a server in 2003? stories
are a waste of time to those of us who know better? and they are just
plain bad information for those who don?t know better.
JMO,
Tim

My experience with dell goes back a few years. At that time the raid
controllers were forcing a full raid rebuild if an disk error was found.
Under the same conditions hp were just chugging along. DRAC cards were
just what their pronunciation means in Russian colloqial

hI,

I have come across a few people that have said to me that, ?Dell servers
are no real servers but high end PC?, this guys prefer HP.

Anybody agrees with that? And why?

Dell is definitely more affordable, is there any features that I would
find in HP but not in DELL, or what are they talking about?

Thanks

Rezuma
