Specifically has to do with 5.1.1. errors sending internally after successfully moving a user's mailbox from one Exchange server to another Exchange server.

As many of us know, when a user's mailbox is moved from one Exchange AG to a new Exchange AG, even in the same domain, Outlook users who have the name of the recently moved user in their Outlook cache (NK2 nickname file) will typically get a 5.1.1 NDR if they use Outlook's auto-complete feature to email that user after they have moved. Now, if they select the user from the GAL, it will work fine... however, I noticed something when trying to tackle this issue on a server-level rather than ask users to clear out their own NK2 file (or script it for everyone): After we move a mailbox, if I use OWA to email the user, selecting the user from the Address List in OWA, it seems to resolve the nickname issue for ALL USERS. The first time I tried this, I thought my results were just a coincidence or an anomoly, but I've tried it two more times and had the same positive results.

Can anyone else confirm this behavior? More importantly, can anyone explain WHY this works? At first I thought it somehow updated the legacyExchangeDN, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
