We are
planning on upgrading our two domain forest to 2003 mode (now at 2000 native).
What happens during this change? The only thing that I'm aware of is changes in
the way AD replicates (linked value stuff...). However, the SAP folks
here tell me that 2003 mode changes the way kerberos works according
to their SAP notes.

So,
what exactly happens?

Perhaps they refer to cross forest
trusts?

Does this paper help at all?

as soon as you increase the FFL to W2K3 all FFL=W2K3
features will be available. Another thing that happens is that the PAS will be
changed (additions to it). That will not be a problem because in FFL=W2K3 you
are sure that all GCs are W2K3 and not W2K.

The only kerberos thing that changes (or better that
becomes available) is constrained delegation, but that already happens at DFL
W2K3

If they have notes about it, they should be able to mention
more about it I guess instead of just saying "the way it works
changes"
