Outside of my MSDN account is there a preferred way to

That was definitely the first place I
checked, and unless I™m blind (which I™ve been accused of many
times by the way), I don™t believe it™s an available option on the
connect website to test.

I™ll probably end up just using my
MSDN copy in our test environment to create a Longhorn DC.

I believe Longhorn/Vista is an invite only Connect
program.

Apologies. I thought it had gone well and truly public back when it went
out to MSDN, etc.

This is pretty standard, MSDN/TechnetP will get a "proper" beta build, then
the actual beta program will continue to get intermediate builds as well as
more documentation and feature focus type web casts to give feedback. Also
beta folks get the newsgroup access.
