This may have already been answered (I’m having a
really tough time parsing through the digest version I get every day) but just
in case:

“Is there an exchange 2k3 SP1 tool available ?”

Not sure. I got lost reading the documentation.

“Anyone have some boiler plate text that they have
used to inform the

clients you support in your domains about the implications,
warnings and

general practices to follow during the DST update process?

Just looking for a time-saver....”

Our TAM sent out the boilerplate notifications that
Microsoft sent to their various clients. We received the email on 2/19;
here’s the text reference:

·
*NEW!* Microsoft
IT has released some communications documents that you can use with your
customers and users. Ensure These are attached. They are
Office 2007 documents and, if you need it, you can go to the Microsoft Website
at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466&displaylang=en
and download the Office Compatibility Pack (make sure you install all
high-priority updates from Microsoft Update first)

The email came with several attachments.

This is the boilerplate I sent out.
I got feed back that management wouldn’t see the important part in their reading
pane. It didn’t cover enough because we got a lot of questions
about it.

All,

We’re all used to daylight savings time starting the
first Sunday in April and ending the last Sunday of October. Congress
thinks that we will save energy by increasing the length of time that
we’re on daylight savings time. This year it will start 3 weeks
earlier (the second Sunday of March) and end 1 week later (the first Sunday of
November)

Since our computers use the date and time in their
communications, we here in the IT Department have been working to make sure
that the time changes on the correct date. Our hope is that most
employees won’t even notice the change. However, meetings scheduled
in Outlook should be considered suspect until it’s confirmed that they
show up correctly for all meeting attendees. To minimize confusion,
please include the meeting time in the request for any meetings scheduled until
November. We will address concerns about personal PDAs that synchronize
with Outlook in a later email.

We keep your apprised as we update software across the
organization.

Thank you for your patience.

Actually once the 'normal' DST time frame kicks in in April through
October the meetings should be okay..it's just the delta time

(and Exchange has a new patch for Newfoundland time change... apologies
to the folks on this list that live there...sorry..those people are
just going to have to move.. I'm not patching for another zone)
