| Check your name resolution and your network access to ensure that all domain controllers in AD can find and access all domain controllers in NT4 domain by shortname. There should be no restrictions whatsoever between the trusted domains. As long as the server that was a pdce originally is up and running trust will function. As soon as that server became unavailable the trust issues started coming up. That scenario may have something to do with the fact that we had static records in WINS for that Domain Controller. If you have multiple Domain Controllers and they dynamically update WINS you might be OK even if your PDCE crashes. As long as you transfer the role and make sure that WINS records are updated properly. Thank you, Tony. Hello Tony, Tell me if i'm wrong, buit if i understood you, the pdce is not needed to create and manage trusts if those trusts are created on a DC that is not the pdce. And that DC(non-pdce) has to be up and running for the trusts to work. am i right ? Thanks, YannTony Gordon < tony.gordon@hewitt.com> a écrit : Yes. The server that initially established the trust does not need to remain the PDC emulator, but has to remain available to maintain the trust. That is what we experienced in a similar situation. Thank you, Tony. Hello all, I have w2k3 Forest in FFL mode with bidirectionnal trust with NT4 domains: we are in the procees of restructuring all NT4 Domains into one AD forest. Questions: Is the PDE Emulator needed to create and manage trusts between my AD forest and NT4 domains ? In other words, if the PDCE fall down, will the trusts be lost ?
