So...what changed 7-10 days ago (new apps/agents/firmware updates, service packs/application service packs, etc)? Is there anything in the system log showing (new) errors that started 7-10 days ago when this issue started happening? Do you have any other same/similar model/configuration servers (i.e. same hardware) that are not showing the same issue (i.e. potential hardware failing)? Have you unplugged the NIC cable and plugged it back in (happened to me a few months ago - that was the fix!). Have you tried switching the NIC cables with a different server to see if the problem moves (make sure the switch ports are configured appropriately). When it is in this "hung" state - and you can't access it remotely - on the console, what is the response like (if any)? Can you move the mouse, do a ctrl-alt-del, login, etc? (long shot) do you have an IPS/IDS system in place that is intercepting the (non ping) packets? How about any IPSEC policies that may be applying/unapplying (for non ping packets)? From last 7-10 days this server is hanging up intermittently. There is no error message in the event logs. This is IBM X 225 Server & used as a File Server. Whenever it's hanged up, I can only ping it, file sharing/remote desktop connection stopped automatically. After 15-20 MINS, again the sharing/remote desktop connection is started automatically. Hardware vendor had also checked the DSA logs & verified that there is no problem from Hardware side. Has anybody faced the same problem or anybody can trigger into the right direction for the solution.
