can you try this ?

Make sure following services are running on client
Netlogon, workstation, remote procedure call, TCP/IP netbios helper

In the properties of the NIC, "microsoft network client" and "file & print
services" are ticked.
try to open \\education.private\netlogon folder
does it open or gives "network path not found" error

On the server side
In the properties of the NIC microsoft network client and " file & print
services" are ticked.
on the WINS tab "Enable netbios over TCP/IP" is ticked.
server service is running.
You are able to access network share "\\education.private\netlogon"

Also, as a last resort check the SMB signing settings in Default DC policy
and Default domain policy. They should match.

Hey Kamlesh,

Thanks for the advice but all those things are already on my clients and the
server.

However, I have fixed it now! I disabled the IPSec service the for clients,
dont really need it over the Lan anyway as its only a small Lan of 50
clients. Also I don't understand how that was coursing the problem but it
was? It somehow relates to smb I think as DNS was fine, VNC was fine, web
surfing (HTTP, HTTPS & FTP) is fine but I couldn't log on properly and slow
network browsing times? Anyway its solved now.

Thanks a lot for everyones help. Its a shame no one got the answer directly
but everyones input lead me to solve this my self. Good job, another
solution in the bag list ;)

Regards,

Bensley
