| Hey List,
For those interested; I, and my lead technician have spent about three of our evenings at home trying to get our printer deployment working via Group Policy. The problem we were facing is that the pushprinterconnections.exe binary file that comes with the Print Server/Management Role for a 2003 Domain Controller is 64 bit (My DC is running Windows 2003 SP2 R2 x64) and all my clients are XPProSP3x86.
Why the hell Microsoft didn't chuck the 32 bit binary in with the 64 bit OS as well as the 64 bit binary I will never know especially since xp 64 didn't come out the same time as 32 bit XP, what where they thinking we were going to do? Purchase Server 2003 x86 just for that?
Anyway, finally got my hands on it after downloading various different images from the Microsoft download center and various virtual machines etc and trawling through them.
I have uploaded it to my rapid share account so it will (hopefully) always be there for download. Grab it. Archive it. You will only every need it once to get the ball rolling but its so freaking hard to come buy you just can't believe it! (Hours of looking online reading about how many people all get via extracting it form an image but not one single person shared it back!!!!)
Help your self, give it to everyone you know. Rejoice, 32 bit pushprinterconnections.exe is here!

Yeah, on SBS 2008 we've hit that issue and thought it was dumb.

| James- You might also want to simply forego this approach and use GP Preferences instead to manage printer mappings.

Yeah I saw that when I was originally looking for the binary. I don't have a blog my self but if you do, blog away! (although after sending this mail out and uploading the binary the word "copyright" popped into my head? I hope this is ok with Micro$oft?) If you do blog it you may want to check yourself first?

Not really much of a GP guru, but could you enlighten me as to how you achieve this? I would be interested to see as I still haven't quite got my printer setup working yet (driver problem?)
Thanks,
James.

| Let's just say Philip already checked and Lawyers are indeed an issue.
