If it was me, I'd first check that this wasn't an image that hasn't been properly re-SIDed. Then I'd replace the NIC. Symptoms: after joining into the domain, which goes without errors, the Vista box is unable to get on the network. This happens after a little bit of time and some reboots. What I see: - the IP address is the APIPA one (169.x.x.x) (DHCP server is the SBS box) - the following services are in status "Starting": DHCP Client; TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper, ... - there are suddenly some services not running anymore - I'm unable to access my Event Logs as that service is also "Starting" ... The domain runs in 2003 mode BTW, the SBS box has all updates applied including those for Vista/Office 2007 etc. I'm running out of ideas on this one, I've checked that I've installed all needed updates on the SBS box etc. When I use system restore to go back, I end up in the same situation after some time. Also I've blocked GPO inheritance to be sure nothing "wrong" was being applied with GPO. Any tips/ideas? Thanks -Bart
