| I've been tasked with deploying Quicktime (yeah, I know...) via group
policy. I'm looking for information about this. The only google link I
found with pertinent information is:
http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=520
But I was wondering if anyone else had done this already and had an
easier way to do the install...
Thanks!

| Have you converted the Quicktime installer to a .msi? Sincerely,

| I did it years ago. Appdeploy is a good site. What is it you want to know? I
recall it being a cakewalk.
Thanks,

| I need to be able to deploy to multiple workstations/users, none of
which run with admin creds. I plan to deploy to computers, assigned. I
want minimum user interaction with the app; it should allow them to run
QT videos from specific websites but not prompt them for registration,
options, no tray icon, etc. All that nice clean stuff we all prefer.
I don't know if I can just deploy the MSI or if I need to tweak it
first; I plan to test, but hoped to avoid reinventing the wheel if
someone's already done it...

| You may need to figure out what that wizard does first time and preset those
reg keys. I remember doing that. I used to use AdminStudio from
Installshield to do all my repackaging. I was pretty good at it at the time.
It's been a while since I did it, though.
Thanks,

| It looks like I can set the preferences I want, which are then stored in
an XML file in the user profile, as well as a .plist and .qtp file
stored in the all users profile. However, I can't figure out how to take
those files as configured and then install them to the user's machine
after the installation but before they start the app...

| MSI is smart enough if you put something in a users profile to kick off the
first time they launch the app and do that bit first.
