Hi,

We have two DC (W2k3 Ent x64) Primary (PDC) & Additional (ADC), both have DNS pointing to itself & the others.
Offlate whenever i reset password for user (usually i alway logon to ADC), i see the below entry in DS Event only on PDC but not on ADC:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: NTDS Replication
Event Category: Replication
Event ID: 1955
Date: 4/17/2010
Time: 1:33:45 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON
Computer: DC02HQ
Description:
Active Directory encountered a write conflict when applying replicated changes to the following object.

Object:
CN=Mohammed M. Alam,OU=HOF-ADM,OU=SAPTCO,DC=SAPTCO,DC=local
Time in seconds:
0

Event log entries preceding this entry will indicate whether or not the update was accepted.

A write conflict can be caused by simultaneous changes to the same object or simultaneous changes to other objects that have attributes referencing this object. This commonly occurs when the object represents a large group with many members, and the functional level of the forest is set to Windows 2000. This conflict triggered additional retries of the update. If the system appears slow, it could be because replication of these changes is occurring.

User Action
Use smaller groups for this operation or raise the functional level to Windows Server 2003.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Any help appreciated
thanks

Frankly speaking I’ve never seen this issue, but is there any special reason
that prevents you from raising the functional level to Windows Server 2003?

Hi,
I too would'nt mind ignoring it, but at times it pesters me a lot..
By the way am running Vista Business 64 Bit in my Office desktop PC and have installed the adminpak too.
Well, the events occurs only when i reset user password from Additional DC, but neither from Primary DC nor from ADUC Mgmt console from my desktop.
Is not it annoying..?

Thanks
