| Hi,
Has anyone ever set this up? I can honestly say I have never used it but now thinking that it is straightforward to configure I cannot get the damn thing working. Have a 2003 forest with a mix of 2003/2008 DC's. I've configured the necessary group policy setting to enable printer location tracking under computer configuration, applied the policy at the root of the domain and have set at least one site in AD Sites and Services under location. Still though the browse button does not appear. I now need to know how to fix this simple thing. Any old heads have any advice?
Thanks Nick

| After you set up the site using whatever naming convention you made, did you also set up the subnets?

| You need to enable on the domain policy:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers\pre-populate printer search location text
The will enable the browse button.

| Yeah, we currently have a around a hundred subnets based on location, I configured the location tab of each subnet with my printer location schema based on country/region/city etc. At this point the Browse button here is greyed out. I was then under the impression with the group policy applied that I would be able to browse for a printer on location, that there would be a browse location button when adding a printer but it does not appear. I feel I'm missing something embarrassingly obvious!
Thanks Nick

| That's all that's needed to enable the browse button then it's a case of using the correct \ to create the hierarchy.
Which GPO did you create it in and has replication occurred?
