I have a batch file that runs
xCopy \\mfgpro2\uschrcl$\client\services
%systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\services /HY

It was working fine, now in the last week or so I started seeing this in my
output log for the script

Does C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services specify a file name
or directory name on the target
(F = file, D = directory)?

How can I tell a batch file services is a file?

Thanks,jb

You can use:
echo f|xcopy \\mfgpro2\uschrcl$\client\services...

That's the same as pressing f at the prompt. Though, I'm curious why it
would be prompting you all of a sudden. Are you sure you don't have a
folder called services on your share that it's now trying to copy?
