I agree with Brandon and would be interested in such as session.
Personally, my role includes both traditional IDM technologies and VDI.

I would attend and/or present this session. VDI is my day job and AD is just
a thing I do on the side :)

While I get point 1, clearly VDI is not an AD thing, I think that is short
sighted approach. Point 2 seems like where things are headedΏ]. Actually I
would go further on point 2 by adding that understanding how VDI plays with
AD is critical to its (VDI) success. If AD guys want to get back into the
light with upper management getting on board with the projects that can help
their career drastically (read bonuses.)

Ώ] Understanding that the large majority of companies out there are smaller
and this may not apply to larger (20k+) companies.

Greetings all,

I was hoping you could provide me with your opinions regarding a debate
we've been having internally about a proposed virtual desktop infrastructure
(VDI) session for TEC in LA. The debate centers around whether VDI is a
relevant or interesting topic for the TEC directory and identity audience.

One side of the debate: The session isn't relevant because AD and identity
engineers/architects aren't generally tasked with virtualization projects,
and if they are, they are generally server and DC virtualization projects.
Desktop projects don't usually land on the AD/Identity guys lap.

The other side of the debate: AD and identity engineers/architects are
becoming multi-roled in light of today's economics, and given
virtualization's huge traction, VDI would be an interesting and relevant
topic to the TEC directory and identity attendees.

My questions to you:

Would you be interested in attending a VDI session at TEC?

See you in LA.
