So it transpires that my lovely OU structure has been completely ruined by our Electronic Documents and Records Management solution not supporting an OU as an LDAP search base and Cisco Callmanager and CUPS not supporting multiple search bases. So I'm in the process of doing a bit of background reading before I extend the Schema to add an attribute for the EDRMS - lucky I bought everybody's books - and I came across another aspect of not including the organisation name in it's name space. I don't want to use our name as a prefix on new attributes. Not even our initials. For exactly the same reason we've avoided our organisation name and any of our functions in the domain names.
