hi all,

one of our admins is investigating a problem with a dc on a domain at one of
our remote sites. bit of background: it's the sole dc in the domain and
it isn't backed up (i know, i know). there is also only one domain admin
account.

we noticed there was an issue this morning when were disallowed from remote
access with the account. logging on locally most of the start menu is gone.
it seems certainly something is up with the group policy, or the domain
admin account is no longer considered a domain admin.

any ideas where to go from here?

daniel.

What's in the event log? Aplication and system may help to shed some light.
Getting a good backup, if you can, is highly advisable before doing
too much to fixthe issue. When resolved, you may now have the
opportunity to see about that second dc as well.
You may also want to check DNS after the event logs.
