I am updating my monitoring software and am trying to find a more reliable way to determine when a specific domain controller was last backed up. I know that the information I am looking for is stored somewhere, but I can't find it. If backups haven't been run within a defined latency period, the Directory Service log throws out 2089 errors with the following text:
This directory partition has not been backed up since at least the following number of days.

Does anyone know where or how it keeps track of the last AD backup?

Thanks
Kevin

Looking at some old code here, looks like the dsaSignature attribute on the domain NC head is updated so you want to look at the replication metadata for that attribute (specifically when that attribute was last updated). Repadmin may have a switch that will do all this for you.

Thanks,
Brian Desmond
