| Hi,
I am changing some Desktops so thought to Delete their Comp Accounts from AD & use the same hostname on the new machine. But now while joining the new machine on Domain with netdom (running from client side), getting Logon Failure error. Now while joining this machine on domain, both machine are connected on Network with the same hostname. Kindly let me know if this is possible or I have to use different hostname. I thought once I have already deleted the Comp Account from AD, I will be able to use the same name.

| Failed to establish the session with TestComp Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. The command failed to complete successfully.

| It is possible, however both the machines will detect each other and log a error about a duplicate host name. I cannot recall whether the second machine coming online will unbind it's IP stack or not.
