DNS whitelisting/ blacklisting software

Hi,

What DNS WL/BL application companies normally use? Microsoft DNS so far I know, don't have that facility to do that.

Hi,
Normally every company use MS FOREFRONT / Symantec / TrendMicro etc. For domain whitelisting.

I think you need to be more precise. Is this for Web Site access , or for E-Mail filtering? Generally this are not done on the DNS server but on the SMTP server or Web Proxy. Dave

Agree with Dave. Your requirement needs to be further defined.

 

Examples:

Websense for web proxy would be something to look at. Their e-mail filtering product is not so hot though.

Symantec Message Labs for e-mail is great, or just move to Office 365!

 

There are so many products out there. You’ve got to find one that best suits your needs and fits within your budget.

OpenDNS is one option.

You can use the MSFT DNS to blackhole, but it's very manual.

Many firewalls have their own blacklist facilities (including
PaloAlto, and McAfee Enterprise (which used to be Sidewinder)).
