Hi, How to find out that which member groups the domain user account belong to without going to "Active Directory Users and Computers" member Tab, by using command line.Regardscid:image002.gif@01D14ECD.C6D1DE80

Just sitting here, I can think of at least 5 different ways to do this.

So, I’m curious – what have you tried and why didn’t it work for you?

Hi,
I got my answer myself.
1. C:\>whoami /groups
2. C:\>gpresult /v
3. C:\>net group /domain
The above only display currently logged on user.
4. C:\>adfind.exe (joeware.net) also do the same, but I need something more then this.i.e. other than currently logged on user to find out the list of  member groups.
Please suggest.

Try looking into the PowerShell AD cmdlets.

I love Joe’s goodies.

Still try looking at the old faithful DS commands.

dsget user “distinguishedName” -memberOf -expand

Gotta use the “expand” switch to get the list of nested groups the principal belongs to.

Cheers,
