Hi everyone, I wanted to ask what you folks do when a virtual IP address for a virtual computer object gets deleted. Let’s say you have a multi-subnet failover cluster with multiple virtual IP addresses and you manually deleted one of the virtual IP addresses in the DNS (after removing it using the Failover Cluster Manager) instead of waiting for DNS scavenging. Because the DNS record was manually deleted instead of waiting for the DNS scavenging to kick in, it reappears back and affects application connectivity. In the past, I’ve done a bit of tombstone reanimation hack in AD (this was pre-AD Recycle Bin era) and it’s been a while since I’ve tested some of the third-party tools. Thanks.
How do you deal with a deleted virtual IP address in DNS for a virtual computer object?
