Just trying to get confirmation on my understanding of the initial replication of the Domain Naming Context during a dcpromo. Assuming this is a dcpromo replicating from an existing DC in the same site, does initial replication include all objects in the Domain NC prior to the reboot (assuming finish replication later isn't pressed)?
I've always thought that at the point of reboot the local copy of the Domain NC is complete and up to date and so once rebooted the DC is fully functional.
I know if the new DC is also a GC that replication of partial attribute set for the other Domain NCs in the other domains in the forest will not begin until the initial reboot has occurred, hence the delay before the new DC becomes available as a GC.
Can someone confirm my understanding is correct or point me in the direction of a good technical article that covers it?
