This request comes from a fellow CTP in the Netherlands.   For a customer I’m looking for an Active Directory web based provisioning tool. This customer is hosting applications for drugstores and small doctors offices, total amount of end-users is around 20.000. They don’t want to provision this AD by themselves. They idea is to send out one “admin” account per customer, and via a self-service portal they can create their own end-user account for all their employees.   They have the following requirements:

1.       Must be webbased

2.       Must work with Active Directory

3.       Must have password reset functionality

4.       Interface must be customisable

5.       Doesn’t have to be open source of freeware   I have no experience in this field, so I was wondering if anybody used a product with features listed above?

Thanks     Carl Webster

Hi Carl,

not sure, but maybe ManageEngine has a solution for you:

https://www.manageengine.com/products/ad-manager/

They are working with web-based UIs, but I´m unsure if there is a automation enignee for User creation…

Volker

Carl,

You may want to consider Hyena.

I know these people:

www.ithicos.com

I would also point out that Windows Azure Pack and Microsoft Azure Stack (altho this cannot yet be used in production) also provide these capabilities.

+1 – not sure if their solution can do this but I’d certainly endorse it as well.

Thanks,

Nice looking product

Christoffer. Thanks for sharing.

You could possibly also use FIM/MIM?

Cheers,

Jeremy

‎The tool which Christoffer mentioned is a good one. However the Directory Manager tool which Michael shared sounds astonishing as well.

Well ‎if we are going to talk about FIM and MIM, I was wondering what would be the Management Agents? In order to fulfil the requirements of the OP,  users can be created in FIM portal and they sent to the FIM Service to start AD provisioning process.‎
