Hello All,
Good Day!I have added few URLs into IE Favourites and published it via GPO (Win Server 2012 R2). Now, there was a requirement for me to remove few of the URLs from the GPO and when I did so I can see all the URLs are still visible in the users laptops (Win 7).
I have googled a lot to find an answer but its not documented anywhere I think. Could someone help me to fix it.
Thanks in advance,Syam. Bangalore.

Hello Orion,
Thank you for the reply. Could you please elaborate how to create a new one to remove them?
Thanks in advance,Syam.

When you say you can still see the link on Win7 machines… does it means that they were successfully removed on other systems?

Coupld of suggestions:

I would narrow this down based on the IE version.

I would check the INETRES version too.

Cheers,

Hello Danny,
Thanks for the reply. My organisation uses only Win 7 and IE 11 on them globally. The removed URLs in group policy are still visible in all user PCs.
Regards,Syam.

Kindly see https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/asiatech/2014/12/16/how-to-apply-favorites-links-to-ie10ie11-in-gpo-without-iem/

In the actions menu you can choose “delete”
